Add distinct characters and tags to your scanned document. By installing the optional imprinter kit into the scanner, the user has the ability to print specific characters on to the document before or after scanning, depending on the scanner model. By printing serial numbers, the scanned data can be tracked, matched and/or indexed with the original document. The printed characters are read as front side image and function as pre-imprinter (front face of document only) for the DocuMate 765 and 4790, and pre- and/or post-imprinter (front/back side of document) for the DocuMate 4799. | |

About Xerox
Xerox Corporationis an American global corporation that sells print and digital document products and services in more than 160 countries. Xerox is headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut (having moved from Stamford, Connecticut in October 2007), though its largest population of employees is based around Rochester, New York, the area in which the company was founded. The company purchased Affiliated Computer Services for $6.4 billion in early 2010. As a large developed company, it is consistently placed in the list of Fortune 500 companies.
Researchers at Xerox and its Palo Alto Research Center invented several important elements of personal computing, such as the desktop metaphor GUI, the computer mouse and desktop computing. These concepts were frowned upon by the then board of directors, who ordered the Xerox engineers to share them with Apple technicians. The concepts were adopted by Apple and later Microsoft. With the help of these innovations, Apple and Microsoft came to dominate the personal computing revolution of the 1980s, whereas Xerox was not a major player.
The laser printer was invented in 1969 by Xerox researcher Gary Starkweather by modifying a Xerox 7000 copier. Xerox management was afraid the product version of Starkweather's invention, which became the 9700, would negatively impact their copier business so the innovation sat in limbo until IBM launched the 3800 laser printer in 1976.

You are a god. I can't tell you how appreciative I am (well, you might be able to guess). Thank you SO much. I will pack this up and get it out to you today. While this experience has soured me on Sony, it has made me a fan of CompSource. (and you!) juliaMore Reviews
